Meet the real Jane of Many Trades. on any given day, I am a pastry chef, a photographer, a food stylist, a bookkeeper, a personal chef, a gardener, a beekeeper and a maid. For nearly 20 years, I called Nashville, Tennessee home but that changed in September 2014 when my husband and I moved to Williamsburg, Virginia. After just two years, we packed up the whole kit and kaboodle, including the hens and dragged it all back to Nashville.
In 2007, my first cookbook, Sky High, Irresistible Triple Layer Cakes, was released. Having had such a wonderful experience working on that book, I did not hesitate to jump in a second time and in 2011, Desserts from the famous Loveless Cafe was released. At this time, I am currently doing all I can to improve my photography and food styling skills while I work on what I hope will be my next book.
When I am not in the kitchen, chances are I am in the garden tending the beds, herding our hens or helping my husband with our bees. And yes, I have my marbles; they are getting a work out as pie weights. So when I am not sifting flour, scouring thrift stores or playing in the garden, I am here killing time in front of the mac and waiting with baited breath for my 7 minutes and 12 seconds of fame. I’m in no need of the whole 15 minutes-I’d probably just get myself in trouble anyway…
